It was with great anticipation that fans of the legendary American musician Bob Dylan tuned in (if they could) to XM Radio on May 3, 2006 to hear the first episode of the Theme Time Radio Hour, Dylan’s foray into the world of the disc jockey. Anticipation turned to delight when it emerged that not only does Dylan have great taste in music, as one would assume, but that he also has a great radio voice, a true gift for DJ gab and a stellar production crew helping him along the way.Soon after the show debuted it started showing up on certain file-sharing sites. I was pretty new to file-sharing at the time, and via the skills and help of my great online buddy, Steve in the UK, I was able to get my hands on mp3 copies of the entire episodes. What a treat! I had also just started a blog called White Man Stew a fem months previous and I was having so much fun listening to the shows that I thought, “What the heck?”, and started posting the shows to my blog. The rest is, as they say, history: the blog ended that year with over a million visitors that year and thanks to Steve and many others I had sorted out a system of getting the shows broken up into segments in lossless format via BitTorrent, converting them into mp3 and tagging them, and uploading them to my blog. And then to my next blog, and then to their own blog.
And now we’re here! Enjoy the shows and support XM Radio and the artists that Bob plays if you possibly can.

) to download the ZIP archive of that episode. The archives vary in size from 50 megabytes and larger but are usually around 70-80 megabytes. Most of the earlier shows from the first season are broken up into fewer tracks. Once unzipped, each folder contains a single episode broken into separate, tagged, mp3 files. You should be able to simply import the mp3s into the application you use to manage mp3s and you are ready to listen.
